This year marks the 20th anniversary celebrating AGVSPORT’s sponsorship of the California Superbike School. Keith Code, founder of the number one bike school, has taught over 100,000 racers including 15 superbike champions who have taken AGVSPORT leathers to the podium. To add on to their historic year AGVSPORT has reached a long term and exclusive licensing agreement with their official U.S. distributor Motonation, a San Diego based company offering products from Premier American and Italian companies. Motonation now has coverage from head-to-toe of the highest quality motorcycle gear from AGVSPORT, SIDI boots, and VEMAR helmets. With a continued relationship with Keith Code’s California Superbike School and the addition of Motonation as the new US license holder and distributor AGVSPORT continues to grow and be one of the most recognized names in racing and sport apparel.

Founded in 1985, this year marks the 25th anniversary of AGV Sport’s Group Inc which is one of the oldest riders owned and operated motorsports apparel companies in the industry. Under the direction of the founder Michael Parrotte, AGV Sports Group makes sure their products are engineered for maximum functionality without compromising abrasion and tear resistance as well as comfort. With the origin of the company being the importation of AGV Helmets from Italy, the company has a strong technical mentality based on the world of helmet manufacturers.

Apparel design is always geared to their core market being the serious rider and/or racer. Identical products worn by AGVSPORT professional riders, most notably seven-time AMA Superbike champion Mat Mladin, can be purchased by the general public. Each product is designed by riders for riders and function is never sacrificed for aesthetics. Keeping product development with Road Racers and Sport bike enthusiasts in house, they stay loyal to their dedicated followers who respect the quality and value of AGVSPORT gear and apparel.

The 2010 product line has had nothing but good review, which can be seen on the company’s blog site, most notably from trackdaymag.com regarding their Laguna suit. “Overall, the functionality of the AGV Sport suit was so good that when he switched back to his regular leathers later in the day, our tester immediately felt hot… This is one serious suit and the price is right in line with the cost of similar garments from other top brands.” The review goes on to say that the Laguna suit has immense functionality and comfort even after a tedious day at the track. It can be purchased through Motonation or found at one of AGVSPORT’s vendor displays on an upcoming weekend.

Moving forward this year AGVSPORT will have a display garage in the paddock at the 2010 Red Bull Indy MotoGP at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway the 27th to the 29th of August. Delegate Jeannie Haddaway back in the news

Seems like preventing men from dating foreign women is not Delegate Haddaway-Riccio’s only vocation in life. At least Senator Pugh respects Maryland’s animal rights :)

Some MD lawmakers fail when it comes to animal issues

It seems that some Maryland lawmakers are better than others when it comes to animal issues, according to animal advocates.

The political action commitee Maryland Votes for Animals and the Humane Society’s Legislative Fund recently ranked all 188 members of the General Assembly according to how they voted on recent animal-related bills. Bills included would strengthen penalties for attendees of animal fights, protect the terrapin and prevent chaining of dogs, among other things.

Forty lawmakers scored perfect 100s and eight got bonus points for sponsoring the key bills. Another 117 pols earned scores of at least 75 percent.

But by voting against the key bills, 12 legislators earned failing marks of less than 50 percent.

Those who flunked were all Republicans, including: senators Alex Mooney and Edward Reilly, and delegates, Jeannie Haddaway-Riccio, Wayne Norman, Andrew Serafini, Donna Stifler, Nancy Stocksdale, Mary Roe Walkup, Richard Impallaria, Warren Miller, Don Dwyer Jr., Adelaide Eckardt.

The single most important thing any citizen of Maryland can do to help animals is to use the power of their vote to help elect humane legislators to office,” Maryland Votes for Animals chairwoman Carolyn Kilborn said.

Lawmakers who scored the highest include: senators Catherine Pugh, Jamie Raskin and Normal Stone, and delegates Jon Cardin, Virginia Clagett, Tom Hucker, Wade Kach and James Malone.

GOP committee members dispute Hough’s theory
State delegate candidate Mike Hough has a theory on imminent turnover on the Washington County Republican Central Committee.
Hough and incumbent Charles A. Jenkins are competing this year in a GOP primary in Subdistrict 3B, which is mostly in Frederick County and partly in Washington County.
In January, shortly after Richard B. Weldon Jr. resigned as delegate, the two counties’ GOP central committees met to recommend a replacement. They hoped to agree, but Washington County selected Jenkins and Frederick County picked Hough.
Given two choices, Gov. Martin O’Malley appointed Jenkins. Hough accused the committees of ceding their duty to O’Malley, a Democrat.
Hough now suggests backlash over the split has surfaced. He said all four Washington County committee members who voted for him are running again, but only one of the five Jenkins supporters is.
Hough said some Washington County Republicans were angry about the split and pressured Jenkins supporters, possibly causing them not to run again.
Not so, said committee member Sue Stouffer, who is running again. She likened Hough’s theory to crying over spilled milk.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” said Philip Baker-Shenk, a committee member who isn’t running again. He said Hough’s theory isn’t worth a response.
In a recent letter to the editor, Baker-Shenk wrote that 10 years is enough for him on the committee and it’s time for someone else to serve.
Paula Lampton, the current committee chairwoman, gave a similar answer for leaving the committee after 10 years. She said she’s also busy with her five grandchildren.
“I’m sorry to disappoint Mike,” Lampton wrote, “but there is absolutely nothing to his theory.”
Stouffer, Baker-Shenk and Lampton wouldn’t confirm Hough’s assertion that they voted for Jenkins.
Committee member Mildred “Mickey” Myers, who said she voted for Hough, also scoffed at his theory.
“To my knowledge, there’s no validity to that,” she said.

The AGV Sport Moda Ladies Perforated Leather Jacket is made of supple top grain leather, has soft armor in the elbows, shoulders and back and has thousands of tiny perforations to increase airflow on hot, summer rides.
Should have seen the strange looks from my co-workers when I told them my next product review would be on a ladies motorcycle jacket. You’d have thought I just confessed to being a coming out-of-the-closet cross-dresser. No, I wasn’t wearing the AGV Sport Moda Ladies Perforated Leather Jacket, my lovely wife was. And from a strictly biased, male chauvinist opinion, she looks hot in it. It shows off her curves well, tight in the waist, snug up top and squared-off nicely in the shoulders without looking like she’s wearing shoulder pads. But since she’s the one who has been sporting it the last couple of months, I’ll let her provide a little insight about the jacket beyond how it looks on her.

The AGV Sport Women’s Moda Perforated Jacket has attractive, feminine styling without being over-the-top girlie. It’s versatile enough to wear for street and touring rides. I like the way it tapers in at the waist and the overall fit is snug and helps seal in body heat. The armor padding is comfortably placed and I didn’t notice them while riding but appreciate the safety they provide. I liked the fact that it doesn’t lift up in the back when leaning forward because the jacket has an extended flap that lays flat on the lower back. Sizing’s a touch small because the Moda in medium is a little smaller than comparable medium jackets.

The jacket has perforated panels that run the length of the front, run under the arms to the back, and on the sleeves. The largest front panel overlaps which cuts into the airflow, so I unzipped the forearm to increase air flow up the sleeve. It wasn’t too bad in the heat, but some zippered vents running up the side would have been a nice touch. It does provide good warmth during cooler evenings. I like the extra neoprene pad around the collar that insulates the back of the neck and supports my helmet at times.

It’s no mystery that girls like to carry a lot of stuff with them and the AGV Sport Moda Ladies Perforated Leather Jacket has plenty of pockets. There are two front hand warmer pockets that are a touch bigger than fist-sized, inside the jacket are horizontal and vertical pockets and the left inside pocket is deep enough for a pair of sunglasses, and it has a cool waterproof media pocket that’s perfect for my cell phone or iPod. AGV was even clever enough to include a little tab in the liner that holds my earphone wiring in place.

The jacket required a few rides before the leather started to soften up and conform to the shape of my body. The arms are pre-curved, which expedites the break-in process. Its soft grain top leather is thicker in areas like the elbows and shoulders which makes me feel protected against road rash. The padding in the shoulders, elbows and back adds to my sense of security and I like that I can pull out the CE-approved protectors if I want. The jacket has a full mesh liner that’s soft against my skin but isn’t removable for cleaning.

Small zip pulls help me get the jacket fastened with gloved hands. The zipper system works well and its quality stitching shows no signs of wear after months of use. I’ve been testing the black leather jacket with the fuchsia trim on the collar, sides, chest and sleeves. The splash of color breaks up the black and has 3M reflective piping that makes me more visible at night. The final feature that I like is its waist connection zipper in the back so I can attach my riding pants if I know I’m going for a long ride.

I love the jacket’s snug fit and attractive styling. It offers a decent amount of protection in its combination of durable leather and strategically placed padding. Even though its perforated, it could use a couple more zippable vents for really hot days. I definitely think it’s worth the $249 sticker price.

Buy it now at the Harley family’s favorite place to shop, the Motorcycle Superstore!

Leaders of marriage-fraud ring sent to prison
Wednesday, July 28, 2010 10:35 PM
By Collin Binkley
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

They had said they wanted to stay in America, but now the ringleaders of a sham-marriage scheme just want to go home.

First, though, they’ll spend time in a U.S. prison.

U.S. District Judge Algenon L. Marbley sentenced Hasan Salohutdinov, 29, of Uzbekistan, today to 15 months in prison and Dmitry Pani, 28, of Estonia, to one year. Both had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit marriage fraud.

Prosecutors said the two men ran a scheme dating to at least 2005 that made matches between U.S. citizens and immigrants trying to get green cards.

After getting married at a S. High Street chapel, the couples would fake the marriage for about a year until they could dupe immigration officials into issuing a green card. Then they would split up.

The ringleaders collected fees of up to $1,000 per marriage. The Americans who took vows were promised $10,000 each.

“Society suffers when you undermine immigration laws,” Marbley said before sentencing Salohutdinov, the second-in-command in the conspiracy.

His ankles and wrists chained, Salohutdinov quietly apologized in a thick accent and said he hoped to return home to visit his ailing mother. “The reason I got married, I wanted to stay here and make a living,” he said. “This was wrong, but I’m not a criminal.”

Salohutdinov received the longer sentence. Prosecutors said that probably was because he didn’t cooperate with the investigation.

Although Pani admitted to heading the scheme, investigators don’t know how long he has been arranging sham marriages. Before he teamed up with Salohutdinov, he operated a similar scheme with an American who has not been indicted, said Daniel Brown, an assistant U.S. attorney.

Sviatlana A. Piskuvina, 22, of Belarus, who was Salohutdinov’s girlfriend, also was convicted of conspiracy, as was Laura Elizabeth Grace Scott, 20, of Columbus. Piskuvina said she came to America to become a teacher, but she now has a felony record and will be deported. Scott was sentenced to two years on probation.

Two Columbus residents were convicted of marriage fraud after marrying immigrants in exchange for cash. Courtnie Susann Good, 20, will serve two years on probation. Brent James Woods, 26, will serve four years on probation and is required to enroll in a drug-rehabilitation program.

Other Uzbek nationals who took vows to get green cards were turned over to immigration officials today. Elbek A. Saidjanov, 22, and Iskander Tairov, 20, both admitted that they paid about $3,000 to get married after their visas expired; they are expected to be deported.

A fourth man from Uzbekistan, Djafar B. Sobirov, 29, has applied for asylum, saying he fears for his life if he returns to his home country. His attorney, Jonathan Bartell, said he didn’t know how long Sobirov will be jailed until a judge decides whether to grant asylum.

Tackling Domestic Violence One Boondoggle at a Time |
Written by Michael Tennant
Wednesday, 28 July 2010 09:00

Domestic violence-Your tax dollars at work: “The National Institutes of Health spent $314,613 over two years on a study that determined that family violence increases about three times as much on the Fourth of July as it does after the local NFL team suffers an ‘upset’ loss,” reports CNSNews.com.

The project began in July 2008 and is scheduled to end in June 2011, but all the money was disbursed in the first two years.

The study compared data from the National Incidence Based Reporting System, a database of police reports of domestic violence, to the results of NFL games “because of the bond people form with their local team, the regular wagering that takes place on NFL games and the detailed statistics generated by the games,” according to CNSNews.

It found that while an upset loss (defined as a loss where the team was expected to win by four or more points) by the home team correlated with “a roughly 10% increase in the number of police reports of at-home male-on-female intimate partner violence,” holidays tended to correlate with much higher levels of violence. New Year’s Day saw the greatest increase in violence (31 percent), followed by Memorial Day (30 percent), Independence Day (29 percent), New Year’s Eve (22 percent), Thanksgiving (20 percent), and Christmas (18 percent). Hot weather also contributes to domestic violence, said the study, which found an eight-percent increase in such violence on days where the temperature exceeds 80 degrees.

Asked by CNSNews to justify the unconstitutional expenditure of hundreds of thousands of taxpayers’ dollars at a time when the economy was in the tank and the national debt skyrocketed to over $13 trillion, Dr. Rosalind King of the NIH said, “The medical care, mental health services, and lost productivity (e.g., time away from work) cost of intimate partner violence is estimated to be in excess of $8.3 billion. It is impossible to estimate the costs in terms of suffering and loss of life that intimate partner violence exacts. However, if the grant yields information leading to a reduction in just a small fraction of intimate partner violence, it will have more than paid for itself.” That’s easy to say when you’re spending other people’s money.

The lingering question: If the government paid for this study, what policies is it likely to implement in response to the results?

First, it could ban upset losses by NFL teams. A team expected to win by at least four points must be allowed to win; or point spreads must be outlawed so no one knows which games are upsets; or all games must end in ties (which would fit in well with the prevailing politically correct paradigm that won’t let kids’ soccer games keep score for fear someone’s self-esteem would suffer). Better yet, sports-bar owners could lobby for legislation requiring all men with domestic partners to watch football games in sports bars and remain there for a “cooling off” period after any losses — legislation that might very well be supported by a significant percentage of the male population, particularly if it included appropriate subsidies for beer and wings.

Second, it could repeal all national holidays, the greatest occasions for domestic violence. Trouble is, this would keep the government operating more days a year, and neither government employees nor productive Americans want that to happen.

Third — and here’s where this study stands the greatest chance of being employed for nefarious purposes — the government could enact cap-and-trade and other anti-climate-change legislation. After all, if hot weather means more domestic violence, what better way to prevent such violence than to put a halt to “global warming”?

If these policies (some admittedly tongue-in-cheek) seem that they would do more harm than good, just remember what your friendly NIH bureaucrat had to say: If even a small fraction of domestic violence can be prevented by these measures, they will more than pay for themselves. Then ask her to buy you a new car with improved safety features out of her own pocket.

Why So Much Harsher toward Men?
A recent 2008 Gallup poll in Great Britain finds that 33% of women “often or very often” feel resentful of men, compared to 14% of men who often feel resentful of women. So fully a third of women carry with them an ongoing resentment toward their opposites, as compared to about a sixth of men. By my own careful calculations, that is a truckload of anger.

Most men are so involved with the accusations and with the anger itself, the harm it does, and the unfairness of it all, that we seem to miss a fundamental question. Just where does such a truckload of anger come from? Is it simply an unfortunate and unintended outcome of our modern culture? Are women treated worse than men? Or is it somehow programmed into human nature? I suggest that women are naturally more inclined to condemn their opposites, and perhaps more surprisingly, that men themselves are harsher toward men than toward women.

Men Are More Stressed in Arguments
Researcher John Gottman at the University of Washington observes couples arguing, and measures pulse rate, blood pressure, and related stress indicators. He finds that men are more stressed, intimidated, and emotionally overwhelmed than women, and tend to concede, placate, or withdraw. “In the sea of conflict,” notes Gottman, “men sink and women swim.” Men are not blindfolded and gagged in arguments with women— it just seems that way.

Women, in contrast, are more comfortable in personal arguments and are more inclined to air their grievances. “I have become increasingly angry,” comments Gloria Steinem, “as the alternative is depression.” Anger for this feminist pioneer seems to be an emotional elixir, which most men find truly incomprehensible.

Innate Tendencies
Gottman and other relationship researchers note that women are more emotionally combative, but leave the “why” question unasked. The workings of natural selection are apparent from even a brief glance through modern evolutionary principles.

Sexual interest is higher in young males across all cultures, primitive or modern, and across the vast array of animal species as well. Those who invest less in each offspring, meaning males, stand to benefit genetically by multiple matings, while those who invest more in each offspring do well to go slowly, choose carefully, and gain the maximum benefit from each mating.

Insistence has been a viable tactic for women, to test the strength of a commitment, while a reluctance to offend has been a more viable tactic for men, who must rely on women to transport their genes into the next generation. Nature selects for women who are more comfortable in arguments and willing to insist, and for men who make allowances and try to avoid offending.

Chivalrous Standards
We hear little of chivalry, and some consider it nothing more than a flimsy folk-tale. Yet human passions are highly chivalrous, supporting women and protecting them from men who might harm them.

An illustration or two should suffice. A man and a woman are in a nightclub, and quarrel. If he throws an ounce of whiskey at her, it is clearly an assault, and an undercover policeman would arrest him on the spot and jail him. If she throws a splash of whiskey at him, it is merely a rebuff or perhaps an expression of exasperation. Who would want to jail her? Surely, anyone who did would not be welcome back at the nightclub. Men who understand women gain their admiration, and perhaps their sexual favors as well, whereas men who oppose and offend women are treated accordingly.

We are not chivalrous simply because men are physically stronger. A Justice survey asked men and women to judge the seriousness of various transgressions. If a man stabbing a woman to death with a knife is rated a 10, meaning truly heinous and indeed unforgivable, then a woman stabbing a man to death with a knife is rated only a 6, meaning surely serious but perhaps understandable under the circumstances. Why so?

Men have been expected to protect women, and the lowlife who knifes a woman is hardly a man at all. On the other hand, a woman who just whacked her mate is still very much a woman, and furthermore, she may be quite available, although a tad risky. A man who understands her situation gains her favor, and may join with her to sire rug-rats with similarly understanding attitudes.

Men who catch a few blows file police complaints only a tenth as often as do battered women, and so seldom come to our attention. Here again, our public conduct follows our genetic interests. What sort of fool would hand his wife over to the men in authority and probably lose her, just because she takes a swing or two? A woman, on the other hand, must count on a man for her safety, and she benefits from punishing the reckless egotist who goes too far over the line.

Chivalrous Chimps
Chivalrous alliances are seen among various social animals, including chimpanzees. In one incident, an offended female chimp calls upon a male companion for assistance. Using high-pitched barks, she points toward her assailant with her whole hand (rather than just a finger), at the same time kissing her companion and patting him. As her pleas become more insistent, he charges out to battle her antagonist while she stands by and watches approvingly. Thus is rescued another damsel in distress, and her champion becomes the hero of the hour. Call him Champ Chimpski.

Chivalry is a social imperative, and Champ here acts to uphold an unspoken standard of justice. Like a real man, although a shave short in stature and light on brain power, he enforces one of our highest and noblest moral callings. He stands by fair maiden, and uses his power to punish the beastly bastard who has so callously offended her.

A chimp such as Champ who supports the damsel may gain opportunities to mate with her later, while one who refuses his support will also be remembered and treated accordingly. And so too among our own. Men who uphold women against offending men gain their respect, and perhaps their favors, while men who refuse women lose out. So nature programs men to support women in distress and to stand strongly against the dastardly scumbags who cross them.

Chivalrous Custody
A general policy of equal parenting rights for both parents improves marital stability, reduces animosities between parents who do separate, benefits the children and makes a separation easier on them, and allows custody lawyers a much needed respite from their demanding legal work loads. When fathers want to remain involved, we might figure that joint custody would be a no-brainer.

Yet we have two competing standards here. Surely, we want what is best for the children. But chivalry is programmed strongly into the human animal, and we feel that it is highly moral to uphold women and to punish the men who wrong them. So the judge tends to side with the woman in her hour of greatest need. His inner Champ Chimpski charges in to support the fair damsel in distress and to punish the worthless lowlife who has wronged her.

Chivalrous Lenses
Human culture appears to be naturally chivalrous, supporting women against offending men, more than it is sexist, as is commonly claimed, supporting men against women. Why do so many believe otherwise?

We are now expected to compliment women on their multiple talents and many achievements, while it is considered sexist and terribly improper to notice limitations or moral failings. And it is now somewhat improper to honor men for any special strengths and virtues, as it can offend women, while it is conspicuously commonplace to condemn men for the many ways men mistreat women. So social propriety exaggerates some facets and conceals others, yielding a highly biased impression of men and women.

” A man defending husbands vs. wives or men vs. women
has got about as much chance as a traffic policeman
trying to stop a mad dog by blowing two whistles.”
-Ring Lardner

An Innate Mechanism
Chivalrous standards are harsher toward men than toward women. It is not merely a matter of cultural happenstance, which could go the other way just as easily. Women are born to expect something for their favors, and men are born to support those who can carry their genes into the next generation. Innate inclinations contribute to our chivalrous standards, and harsher treatment towards men serves to enforce those standards.

Innate leanings do not mean that something cannot be changed, only that passions run high and must be managed. Advocates for more equal treatment for men wrestle against a chivalrous moral imperative that most of the population hardly knows exists. We should wish them well.

Patriarchy for Dummies
By Paul Elam | Source | July 24, 2010
If you have followed the ongoing volumes of discussion in the gender war, you are familiar with a constantly regurgitated bit of feminist claptrap.
Feminism isn’t anti-male, it is anti-patriarchal and of course, it‘s about equality.
Sure it is.
We should consider, though, that in their constant attempt to reshape reality to fit the needs of the moment, there is a dirty little secret that feminists continually keep from themselves. Well, one among many. This one is called reproductive strategy. And without understanding that, you can’t understand why and how we developed a patriarchal system.
It is really simple. Men are wired to do whatever it takes to be selected by women for mating. Women are wired to select men that are dominant and aggressive, e.g. patriarchal.
Do I need to say that again?
Do you ever wonder why men like Scott Peterson show up at death row with a stack of marriage proposals waiting for them? That’s what happened, and the proposals came from women who only knew one thing about him: He savagely murdered his wife, cutting his own baby from her abdomen and dumped them both out of a boat into the bay.
How is that for marriage material?
It isn’t any different with Joran van der Sloot. After skating on the Holloway murder, van der Sloot became a sexual celebrity. Everywhere he went, young women in their sexual prime threw themselves at him like he was Mick Jagger.
Something about the missing body of a young girl and his fingerprints all over the case acted like Spanish Fly on these women.
Of course, he killed again. And of course, his marriage proposals started rolling in as well.
Here, by the way, is the video of Joran and his last victim, Stephany Flores, checking into the hotel room in Lima, Peru, where he would kill her. Watch it closely.

Did you get the way she followed him like an obedient dog? Note the two steps behind and head bowed like a Geisha body language. It is the age old false female submission to male authority, killer authority, in order to have access and eventual control of that power. It is the same type of power that has been making women wet and tingly since the prehistoric plains of the African savanna.
Are the women gone ga ga for Peterson and van der Sloot the exceptions to the rule?
No.
What they are is more extreme examples of the norm. Everyone eats, and in every culture there is a certain percentage of people that eat to the point of obesity. It doesn’t make eating abnormal, it just points to some abnormal eating. These women are the same type of phenomena.
They are attracted to killers for the same reasons that the average young woman is attracted to thugs, bad boys on motorcycles, rock stars and politicians as ugly as Henry Kissinger. It is all about power. Power to protect, power to provide, power to dominate and control.
Power to be corralled and used.
When all that power gets channeled into a box and served up on a platter for women’s benefit, you have the ultimate aphrodisiac. There’s your patriarchy in a nutshell, and all the laws, codes, social norms and gender roles that came with it. Women use the illusion of submission and being demure, coupled with sexual appeal, to get men to perform for their benefit.
Ultimately the master is the slave. He lives under the illusion of power, when in reality he is only the provider of it.
And this of course explains why feminism has not resulted in equality, but only more privilege for women. Feminism only takes what is already there, the female drive to benefit from the power acquired by men, power that almost all women are incapable of gaining on their own, and takes it to the extreme level. In that light, feminism is an extreme that showed up in normal sexual life, just like a letter bearing a marriage proposal on death row.
And as always of course, the chief enablers of all this are men jockeying for sexual approval/selection.
As I have said before, take it up with God or Darwin as you please, but don’t blame me for telling the truth.
But that truth, in these modern times, presents a unique dilemma for men, at least the ones that have pulled their heads out and started to read the writing on the wall.
The acquisition of all the power needed to attract women brought with it a rather unfortunate consequence.
Disposabilty.
Pulling 12 hours in a coal mine with trembling walls and death in the air you breathe is a high price to enable a woman to remain at home taking care of children, especially in an age where that kind of life is absolutely unnecessary.
If you are fortunate enough to be alpha material, you get to own or run the coal mine, have men do the digging for you and perhaps even have some of their wives yield to the tingle you give them while hubby is down in the depths doing what a man has to do.
But this is really where we run into a wall that is unscaleable in the movement toward this incredulous thing called “sexual equality.”
The minute that man takes a real look at what he is doing and decides less money is a better option, then that is where hypergamy kicks in to overdrive with the wife and he loses her.
The very moment he values his safety and quality of life more than he values her standard of living, the clock starts on her departure.
Without playing by the same rules that gave us patriarchy, there is no real connection between men and women. The men who undermine patriarchy in the only real way it can be undermined, by refusing to take care of women, are automatically reduced to the status of loser and placed on the sexual sidelines.
The only answer to this is to open the door for women on the way out, and perhaps give them a little shove as they go. It’s the feminist equalitarian thing to do, after all. These men should be lionized by Steinem, et al, because it frees women from all the “oppressive” patriarchy that comes with marriage (which they will then, invariably, look to get from some other man) and it allows the man, at least in the case of a coal miner, to add a decade or so to his life span and perhaps enjoy it a little more.
If feminism were about being either anti patriarchy or pro equality, the only focus it would have had would be on challenging women to quit picking the most powerful provider that they can and using them to live as close to the state of royalty as possible.
It would have also told women to put down books and pick up shovels.
Instead, what we have is women dominating the work force in the most cushy jobs available, many of them low paying, while men still bear the brunt of often fatal occupational hazards so they can make enough money to be an attractive provider. Whatever financial gaps result in this for women, they simply use The State, that ultimate expression of patriarchy, to fill in.
And do you think these under employed women are more prone to marrying down than any other woman?
Let‘s be real here, all feminism has done is give women a new place to kick back and take it easy while men ante up the blood, sweat and tears. And it leaves their supposedly lamented patriarchy safe and completely intact, ready to do their bidding in any way they want.
Same as it ever was.

Undoubtedly, you’ll get a good laugh from this. Excerpt:

‘I recently participated in a TV discussion on why prostitution is on the rise in the country. I shared the panel with a closet feminist and a radical feminist, both of whom were of the opinion that prostitution was better than marriage since the house is unsafe for a woman, and she would at least get paid for her services if she were a prostitute.
I returned home thinking about their wise utterances and went to bed discussing the same with my husband.
I said, “For decades, feminists have claimed that one out of three women is unsafe in her own house. They have told us horrendous tales about how it was daily grind for men in the country to abuse, assault, set afire and murder their wives. They lobbied for laws which would facilitate a woman breaking her shackles and barging out of the “tyrannical household” or throwing her alleged oppressors out, whichever is convenient. They ensured that every woman who had a problem “clearly understood” that all her problems were because of men, marriage and the household.”

All of a sudden my husband had an epiphany and said, “A WHOREHOUSE!”
“YES,” I agreed, “This is brilliant! It is neither the house nor the street. It is something in between – the utopia that my feminist friends on TV spoke so highly of. They have to be right. That’s where they think our women would be safest, well paid and properly fed, and that’s why prostitution, with the more fashionable label of ‘commercial sex’, is on the rise.”

While I was still marvelling at this astounding progress, I saw a news item which said that the recent Government Census clubbed housewives, prostitutes and beggars into a group. What a timely gesture by the Government!

Feminists have not only taught women to shun all the age-old encumbrances imposed by marriage and family but also to shed all inhibitions associated with parasitic living. Accordingly, there is no trace of shame in these modern liberated women, but it is with a sense of pride and entitlement that they artfully exact money, thus claiming their rightful inclusion by the Government in the club.
The feminists reduced housewives into prostitutes and beggars long ago. The Government has just made it official by grouping them in the Census.
Why, then, is the Supreme Court cross about it? Beats me!’ | Source | July 24, 2010

On the Campaign Trail

Kind words for both, but one endorsement

Del. Charles A. Jenkins, R-Frederick/Washington, got a campaign boost recently when former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. endorsed him at the annual Ag Expo at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center.

Ehrlich joked about his two friends — a cow he just met and Jenkins, who “I’m going to be working with for the next four years in Annapolis.”

Ehrlich said Jenkins, a former Frederick County commissioner, has important local experience.

“I’m very pleased to support Charles,” Ehrlich said.

A July 18 news release on Jenkins’ campaign website quotes Ehrlich saying, “I am pleased to endorse Delegate Charles Jenkins for election to the House of Delegates.”

Four days later, Michael Hough, Jenkins’ opponent in the GOP primary, sent an e-mail titled “Ehrlich Announced his support for Michael Hough.”

The e-mail has a video clip of Ehrlich saying he “supports” Hough.

With traffic noise behind him, Ehrlich talked about the importance of having legislators who understand businesses and creating jobs

Hough, a former aide for Sen. Alex X. Mooney, R-Frederick/Washington, also understands the legislative process, Ehrlich said.

“I’m very happy to talk you up, my friend,” Ehrlich said to Hough. “I wish you well.”

Ehrlich campaign spokesman Andy Barth said both candidates were correct in their news releases. Ehrlich spoke favorably about both candidates, but endorsed Jenkins, Barth said.
